14 Reasons Why it’s Impossible to Make Money with ChatGPT

What is ChatGPT? There is no doubt that ChatGPT is pretty revolutionary in terms of the advancement in AI. By many, it is seen as the best chatbot app currently on the market. This leveling up is also true for the progress of technology over the last few years in general.
People have even cottoned on to the fact that chatbots like this could potentially be used to generate cash. This can be accomplished in a variety of different ways with varying degrees of success.
Although, there are several pitfalls in the performance of ChatGPT to look out for. These issues may obstruct you from using it efficiently even if you’re not trying to monetize using the chatbot itself. There are also a few stumbling blocks when it comes down to specifically making money in business with ChatGPT.
1. Making mistakes
ChatGPT might seem like a game-changer on the surface. Nevertheless, there are a number of underlying caveats to watch out for. Although an improvement on GPT-3, ChatGPT still isn’t foolproof by any means.
You may find mistakes or even end up with something that you don’t want at all. ChatGPT can sometimes answer your request with incoherent, babbling nonsense. This is far from ideal but it can sometimes be remedied by trying to input the query again.
2. Talk to ChatGPT by asking follow up questions
You may have to rephrase your request and make significant additions or amendments. Sometimes ChatGPT can’t easily give you the desired answer without a bit of further assistance from your good self.
One can learn so much more about ChatGPT by taking a specialized course with Web Cafe Commerce. These online lessons are great for both novices and advanced users.
3. How to use ChatGPT at capacity
One may have trouble using ChatGPT at certain times due to the server capacity maxing out (which is a common problem). The chatbot is experiencing significant growth and hype.
Undeniably, it is extremely popular right now. To demonstrate, it has over 100 million users right now. You can expect a lot of people to want to use this service so this will only exacerbate the problem.
This can be a major sticking point if you are looking to use this tool for urgent work. These disruptions can be a pain if you are on a tight deadline, for instance. Some people have found that refreshing the web page has helped remedy this.
Although, you could also try using the website during off-peak times. Choose to use it when you believe fewer people will be online. This might include early afternoon weekdays, for example. You could even try in the early hours of the morning if convenient for you.
4. Inability to chat about forbidden subjects
There are certain sensitive topics that this chatbot will simply refuse to chat about. A few examples of this might include the more extreme aspects of:
- politics
- religion
- social issues
This can be unfortunate if the work you want to do hinges on or is closely related to those very subjects. If you want someone to write a piece about a specific topic then you may be better off either offering your own freelance service or hiring an affordable freelancer on Fiverr.
5. Spread of lies & misinformation from the ChatGPT bot
In the past, ChatGPT has been caught churning out bits of misinformation. I wouldn’t take the chatbot entirely at its word because of this.
It shouldn’t need to be stated but one should always strive to tell the truth and state the facts. Ideally, you shouldn’t spread lies (even if this is done unintentionally by accident).
ChatGPT has been known to get even the most basic of facts wrong. You would do well to verify and fact-check everything. The chatbot being incorrect about something could reflect badly on you. For this reason, don’t simply pass this text on without any thought or approval.
6. Churning out abuse from your ChatGPT account
You may be shown content that could hurt your reputation if you go ahead and use this on a professional level. This might include text that is:
- discriminatory
- prejudiced
- biased
ChatGPT is banned and blocked in Italy and a few other countries. This is rumored to be because of the abuse and perhaps several other reasons too.
7. Lack of originality from ChatGPT prompts
There are possible plans for ChatGPT to watermark the content that it puts out. Doing this may actually solve a few ethical problems. Obviously, this will make it very difficult for you to pass off this text as your own original work.
People will clearly know that you have been using ChatGPT if this were to be introduced. They might not be happy about it if you don’t admit this upfront. However, one can always rewrite the text in your own words as a way to get around this.
8. ChatGPT limitations when it comes to being generic
The text you get back may turn out to be of poor quality or very generic, to say the least. For example, let’s hypothetically say that there are two people in the world. They both want something written by ChatGPT about the exact same topic.
Both individuals may end up with the exact same piece of wishy-washy text. Either this or something extremely similar that has been vaguely rephrased. There may be very few actual distinctions in the text too.
If you really want something truly original and unique then you may want to steer clear of ChatGPT. The same can be said of any other chatbot for that matter.
9. ChatGPT questions resulting in a lapse in humanity
ChatGPT isn’t completely literate or in touch with the intricacies of human behavior. It can have a tough time picking up on:
- humor
- irony
- sarcasm
- metaphors
- figures of speech
- social cues
10. Failing to keep up to date with the news
There is a good chance that ChatGPT won’t be able to tell you about the most recent news stories and current affairs. The reason for this is that the chatbot often uses sources that are outdated.
Remember that it isn’t a search engine like Google that has the latest data. You may not be able to find answers or information in regard to recent world events.
ChatGPT might ignore or be confused about things that have happened in the past 12 months, for example. Although, there is apparently a ChatGPT Chrome extension or browser plugin that can fix this problem. In addition, maybe GPT-5 will ultimately solve this problem.
11. Polishing your request with ChatGPT & GPT-4
ChatGPT isn’t perfect as I’m sure many of you are aware. You may find that a human being will still need to go through the text (often with a fine tooth comb). An individual will need to review anything that this program produces.
This is done in order to polish it up to a readable and professional level. There are some ChatGPT plugins available that you can use to enhance your experience.
12. Does ChatGPT work with paid survey panels?
Some people have realized that ChatGPT could fairly easily be used to answer survey questions in paid questionnaires. Although, this isn’t exactly ethical for either you or the survey panel. It’s certainly not one of the best uses of ChatGPT.
Survey companies like to know that their questionnaires are being answered by real humans. They want to be provided with genuine and sincere answers from multiple different profiles and walks of life.
If this is not the case then the data collected will be more or less worthless. Keep in mind that some of these surveys may have quality control tests in place. These checks may catch you out if you are being deceptive by using an automated AI.
Gathering information like this from a soulless machine is useless. This is true given that surveys are supposed to be a way of gauging human behavior.
13. Giving a review with the ChatGPT chatbot
Some brands pay people to write reviews and give feedback for products or services. ChatGPT could be used by certain people for this to gain a financial incentive.
This isn’t exactly fair as ChatGPT isn’t considered to be a real consumer. For the most part, a chatbot can’t possibly use the product or service in question.
14. Effect of plagiarism on schooling & education
There are some cases of unscrupulous students using ChatGPT in the classroom. Young people sometimes utilize this for the purpose of completing essays and homework assignments.
As you would expect, this kind of defeats the purpose of education. Certain institutions have even gone as far as prohibiting the use of ChatGPT at:
- schools
- colleges
- universities
Due to cheating, it is very difficult to fairly test and grade students with the internet at hand. This is especially relevant with the introduction of this ChatGPT (for obvious reasons).
There is even talk of the implementation of a ChatGPT detector or checker as a way of catching people out.
What is DALL-E 2?
There are plenty of fun things to do with ChatGPT. However, OpenAI (the developer of ChatGPT) is also responsible for other achievements that you may have heard about. For instance, they have created a product called DALL-E-2.
How does it work? This computer program can convert a descriptive line of text into an image. This ultimately creates a piece of computer generated artwork.
People commonly refer to this as an “image generator”. Think of it as being similar to ChatGPT but for pictures instead of text.
Why is DALL-E 2 so divisive?
Just like ChatGPT, this particular development has been very controversial. Consider that it could put many artists and creative people out of a job in the near future.
One of the big arguments against this is the fact that human expression is a huge part of art and creativity. It could be very dangerous and harmful to society to gut that out completely. It may essentially replace people solely with machines in this arena.
There is also the point that AI generated art doesn’t require any hard work or talent to produce. People can simply just type a few words, click a button, and produce artwork within a few seconds.
This would ordinarily take a lot of time and effort to craft by someone with true artistic ability.
There are a great number of technical and ethical issues at play here as we’ve seen. Is ChatGPT safe? Given the security, we don’t know how likely a ChatGPT data breach is to happen.
However, I can potentially see OpenAI refining this chatbot with future updates for the better. Although, as things stand, there is still a long way to go in improving ChatGPT. Of course, enthusiasts of this chatbot want to make it the best that it can be.
Entrepreneurs and business owners may have to wait a little longer. Alternatively, they can look elsewhere for other options to use their work.
This is far from the easiest way to make money online. If you’re after something really simple then I would advise checking out reward websites like SwagBucks. This platform pays you to take surveys on the internet and do other little tasks as well.
If you are not yet convinced of this skepticism then why not just see for yourself? Perhaps your next step should be to dip your toe and try out ChatGPT personally.
This way you will have the direct experience to draw your own conclusions on this chatbot without having to rely on my say-so. There currently isn’t a ChatGPT official app that you can register with either on Android or iOS mobile devices.
If I were you, I would stick to the OpenAI website for now. You can learn how to join ChatGPT by signing up here for registration and then using your login.
Unless we’re talking ChatGPT Plus, there is no monthly subscription to worry about so you can get ChatGPT for free. Who are the biggest ChatGPT competitors? One can instead use the Microsoft Bing chatbot (or Google Bard in the future) as a ChatGPT alternative.
Websites like raconteur and makeuseof have also noticed the flaws of ChatGPT. If you want more details on why you might struggle to earn money with this chatbot then I suggest you take a look.
Are there any benefits of ChatGPT? I’ll hold my hands up and admit that I may have misled you a little bit with the headline of this particular article. In fact, some people have indeed found certain ways to make money with ChatGPT.
The legitimacy of these methods is still up in the air. However, if you want a more positive spin on this new chatbot then check out 22 Creative Ways to Make Money with ChatGPT Chatbot for FREE.
How do you think ChatGPT could improve its service in the future? Do you agree that ChatGPT is not currently good enough to help people make money and explain why?
