There are certain things you can do to optimize and clean up your PC. However, your laptop will eventually tell you “enough is enough” no matter what the attempted fix after a while. The hardware and components within the laptop will likely degrade and wear themselves down after sustained usage.
Browser Issues
For me, the last nail in the coffin came when I was required to update my chrome browser. For some reason, the update wouldn’t work no matter what I did or how many times I attempted it.
After a bit of troubleshooting, I was advised to reinstall the browser altogether in the hope that this would fix it. This turned out to be a massive mistake. After uninstalling, I was unable to reinstall the browser despite my best efforts.
Using mobile devices
Sadly, I was now stuck with no reliable browser. This also meant that I could no longer access WordPress in order to tend to my website. Conversely, I could still use the WordPress app and mobile site on my smartphone. Although, there are certain tasks you just can’t do with these two methods.
Borrowing from family
This situation was turning into a nightmare, but there was a glimmer of hope. Fortunately for me, I have a family member who has kindly allowed me to borrow their laptop. As a matter of fact, they told me that I could hang on to it permanently as they no longer had use for it anyway.
The laptop is actually a slightly newer model of the same HP Stream 11 laptop as I was using before. This made things a little bit simpler for me.
Getting my ducks in a row
My original laptop was blue but this one is purple. In the grand scheme of things, the change in colour didn’t bother me. All I cared about was that it functioned well enough and did everything that I needed it to do.
I began transferring all of my saved files from the old laptop to the new one. This also involved customizing the laptop for my business which meant:
- changing passwords
- uninstalling unwanted programs
- deleting old files
On top of this, I also logged back into to all of my online accounts on this new computer.
If you are having computing issues, it’s always good to have a backup option at your disposal (before you ever need it). I mean this in terms of both copying your important files and having a reliable device you can utilize as well.
These problems might also be in regard to software, programs or whatever else. What is your favourite web browser and why? How are your family and friends when it comes to lending you their stuff?
